3 stabbed at children’s baseball game in Ventura – KABC-TV

Three people were stabbed during a children’s baseball game in Ventura Sunday afternoon.

The victims were stabbed around 4 p.m. in the 2000 block of Cameron Street, near De Anza Middle School. Authorities said the stabbing happened at a little league baseball game near the diamond, but not on the field.

Two of the victims were watching the game. A 38-year-old father and his 19-year-old son were then confronted by a group and the son was stabbed, authorities said.

The father tried to help his son and was stabbed. One person in the group was also stabbed, and the group fled the scene.

The 38-year-old victim suffered serious injuries and it is unknown if they are life-threatening. His son also suffered serious injuries.

It is unclear if the stabbing was gang related. The investigation is ongoing.
