Head Coach Rick O’Dette on the 2017 Recruiting Class:
“First of all, I have to acknowledge our entire coaching staff on a tremendous job they have done with this class! We had very specific needs and we feel those needs were addressed. These eight individuals are not only great players, but they are great people from great families. We feel this is a very talented group of student-athletes that will come in immediately and make our program better. We had specific needs both in the infield and behind the plate and with the additions of Drew Hensley, Chad Garisek, Andy Lopez and Steven Kokoski, I feel we addressed those needs and that these four will have a big impact on our program. On the mound we feel we got three outstanding prospects that will only get better in Jack Myers, Jack Phillips and Hunter Becker. All have huge upsides and have the attributes we look for in a pitcher here at SJC. In the outfield, we added an athletic kid in Scott Garrow, who will add to the depth of our outfield. Again, we couldn’t be more excited about this recruiting class!”
