As it happened – Scotland lose to Fiji – BBC Sport

Well it wasn’t to be for Scotland today as Fiji spoiled their hopes of a perfect summer of three tour wins from three.

The Fijians played some wonderful stuff and a few of Scotland’s fringe players found the going tough in Suva. The knowledge that many of his big guns were missing or rested for this match may be small comfort for Gregor Townsed, though he’ll undoubtedly be frustrated with many aspects of the Scottish performance.

Overall the tour has been positive for Scotland, not least because of that famous win over Australia in Sydney last weekend off the back of victory over Italy in Singapore.

Fair play to Fiji. There are not many sides in world rugby you’d rather watch when they’re at it and they were certainly on song today.

Thanks for your company and contributions today. Keep across the BBC Sport website for plenty of reaction and analysis from this match.

And don’t forget to stay with us for the big one from Eden Park later this morning – the first Test between New Zealand and the British & Irish Lions. Less than three hours to go. Should be a cracker.

Have a great weekend.
