Patrick Kane removed from cover of EA Sports NHL 16 – CBSSports.com
Video game giant EA Sports announced on Wednesday afternoon that it will no longer be using Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane on the cover of its upcoming NHL game and that he will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of the game.
Here is the full statement from EA Sports.
“In light of the ongoing investigation involving Patrick Kane, he will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of EA Sports NHL ’16.
“He will not appear on the EA Sports NHL 16 cover nor participate in other EA Sports NHL 16 promotional activities.”
The company chose Kane, along with Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews, to be on the cover for this year’s version of the game. They were going to be the first pair of teammates to ever appear on the cover of the game together. It is now expected that the cover will feature only Toews.

Hamburg (N.Y.) Police confirmed last week that they are investigating an incident that allegedly occurred at Kane’s home on Aug. 2.
Police have provided few details on the investigation otherwise, aside from acknowledging that they are still gathering information and awaiting forensic testing results.
