The celebration caught on for other victorious teams but for England they will have bitter memories of the thunderclap and to top it off they have had to witness British sports stars join in.

The claps and chants become increasingly quicker before the shout of ‘huh’ comes in make the chant all the more chilling.

England boss Gareth Southgate was not in charge of England at the time of the shocking defeat but he would have been surprised that the chant was allowed to happen.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri seemed to be really getting involved in the thunderclap, but he had every reason to be enjoying himself as his side were about to be recognised for their wonderful achievement of winning the Premier League.

The thunderclap was started off by two Iceland fans in shirts with a drum to get the whole crowd going with the celebration.

All in all it was a bit tongue in cheek but it was a surprising inclusion in to the show all things considered with how bad a year it has been for England.

With tumbling out of the tournament early and then having to sack Sam Allardyce after just one game has meant that the its been a year to forget.

However Southagate will be hoping that come SPOTY 18 he can be leading his team on the stage for the team award after taking his team to World Cup glory in Russia, fingers crossed there wont be another thunderclap moment.
